This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website and services, including the C.O.U.N.T. platform (the "Platform"). The ConnectHERS + Co. is the registered business and data controller; C.O.U.N.T. is our product operated under that business.

- Business or professional information (e.g., role, organization, bio) used for profiles or matchmaking.
- Content you submit (e.g., showcase profiles, opportunity listings, messages, media).

We may also collect information automatically when you use the Platform, such as:
- Usage data (pages viewed, interactions, referring pages, device and browser information).

2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate the Platform, including matchmaking and connection services.
- Feature you in digital showcases when you opt in or submit relevant information.
- Send updates, newsletters, and relevant communications (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- Improve our Platform and services based on aggregated engagement and feedback.
- Personalize features and recommendations.
- Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and maintain security.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
3. Legal Basis (Canada)
We generally rely on your consent to collect, use, and disclose your personal information for appropriate purposes consistent with your interactions with us. In some cases, we may also process information for contractual necessity (to deliver requested services), legitimate interests (e.g., security, service improvement), or as required by law. We use third‑party service providers ("processors") to help deliver the Platform (e.g., email delivery, analytics, payment processing). When we share data with processors, they access it only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by appropriate safeguards. Examples include:

Our services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The latest version will be posted here with the effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect signifies your acceptance.

14. Breach Reporting (PIPEDA)
We assess any privacy breach to determine whether it creates a real risk of significant harm. Where required, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and we will retain a record of all breaches for at least 24 months.
15. CASL Compliance (Commercial Electronic Messages)
We send Commercial Electronic Messages (CEMs) in compliance with Canada’s Anti‑Spam Legislation (CASL). We obtain express or implied consent as permitted by law, include our contact information and an unsubscribe link in every CEM, and honor unsubscribe requests without delay. Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect transactional or service emails.
16. Automated Decision‑Making and Profiling
The Platform may use automated scoring or matching based on your profile fields, preferences, and tags to recommend opportunities. These automated processes support recommendations only and do not produce legal or similarly significant effects. You may contact us to ask questions, express concerns, or request a review of recommendations.
17. Cross‑Border Processing and Service Providers
We use third‑party service providers to operate the Platform, which may process or store personal information outside Ontario and Canada (for example, in the United States). Categories include hosting and infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing (e.g., Stripe). We use contractual and technical safeguards to protect your information consistent with this Policy.
18. Access and Correction Requests
You may request access to or correction of your personal information. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and generally aim to respond within 30 days, subject to permitted extensions. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the OPC.
19. Payment Security
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems. Stripe is independently responsible for its PCI‑DSS compliant processing.
